Many students with Dyslexia are:
- Right-brained learners, who learn best when they see and experience information

- Have attention problems -- whether they have ADHD or not

- Have visual perception issues -- skipping words and lines when reading, difficulty copying and reversals are not Dyslexia - but they often occur in a Dyslexic Child

3D Learner on CBS gives you more information on this and then there is a discussion of Dyslexia and ADHD at Beating Dyslexia and ADHD with Parent Power

Getting ready to go for an IEP meeting for my son who is a Junior in High School. I must admit I am anxious about it because our past ones were complete disasters, with schools denying he has dyslexia, even though we have a doctors diagnosis. I know they aren't going to do that, but I also know they don't understand it at all. I am just tired of fighting this fight, but know I must go on. Would love suggestions for what has worked for any of you in high school for help. He mostly struggles in language and math. Thanks.

The International Dyslexia Association has an opportunity for teachers to attend the conference and be provided registration fees, a hotel stipend, and one year's memebership to IDA. Might be good to share with your children's teachers -- doesn't hurt that the conference will be held in Orlando in November :) .
