Hey all, I am college student with dyslexia from CSULB preforming a research study to see what kind of academic experiences other college student with dyslexia have. I would appreciate it if any and al dyslexic college students would take my survey so I can share my results with othe Non- Dyslexic Students and teacher a like a shed a light on our frustrations or successes.

I am a reading teacher for students with severe dyslexia in high school. What assistive technology is being used successfully to convert text to speech? Our school has not had very good luck with trial programs we have tried. Others are too expensive. I have two students right now who could really use a decent text to speech program. One wants to be a chef, but reads at a third grade level, and the other has a bad habit of guessing at words and loses the meaning of anything he is reading within a few lines.

I just found eSpeak. Not the best screen reader, but it's free. The Vista speech recognition is also pretty good. I just discovered them both this past weekend. ReadPlease 2003 is a good screen reader too, but the voice is not as good.
